Marriage in the UK can mean balancing two families, two cultures and a faith, often far from the people who used to help you settle disagreements. The Meeting Matters offers online marriage counselling for Muslim and Pakistani couples in the UK, led by Mr. Muhammad Naushad Anjum, a psychologist registered with the UK Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), with sessions in Urdu or English.
Session fees at The Meeting Matters are set in Pakistani Rupees (PKR 5,000–15,000, with a 20% student discount) — for clients paying in GBP, USD or CAD, that typically works out to a fraction of local therapy costs, without compromising on qualified, evidence-based psychologists who understand your cultural background firsthand.
Ready to talk to someone?
Expectations from both families, in-law tension, a spouse who arrived on a spouse visa and is still settling, one partner working long hours while the other feels isolated, differences between a UK-raised partner and one raised in Pakistan, money, and decisions about children and where to live. These are common, and counselling gives you a structured place to work through them.
If your faith matters to you, tell us at the start. Counselling here is professional, evidence-based couples work that respects a Muslim couple's values and does not ask you to set faith aside. We do not issue religious rulings; for questions of fiqh, please consult a qualified scholar. See Islamic and Muslim marriage counselling and is marriage counselling allowed in Islam.
Mr. Muhammad Naushad Anjum specialises in couple, marriage and family counselling, using CBT and structured couples approaches informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Gottman Method. He is registered with the HCPC in the UK and in the UAE, and is the founder of The Meeting Matters. See his profile.
Both partners join one secure video session, even from different places if one of you is travelling or still abroad. The first session lets each of you describe the problem, and we agree a few goals. You can start alone if your partner is not ready. Sessions are in Urdu, English or Punjabi. Mr. Anjum is mostly available online and bookings are arranged by our client team around his availability and your time zone; another psychologist from our team can start sooner if needed.
If trust has been broken or you are deciding whether to stay together, see marriage counselling for infidelity and divorce and separation counselling. If your spouse is abroad, read our guide to marriage problems when your spouse is abroad.
Fees for UK clients are confirmed when you book. Book a session or message us on WhatsApp, and we usually reply within about 30 minutes. For the main UK page, see Pakistani and Urdu-speaking psychologist for the UK.
We are not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger in the UK, call 999. If there is domestic abuse, contact the National Domestic Abuse Helpline on 0808 2000 247 (free, 24 hours).

“I am truly grateful to Ms. Tasmiya Asghar and the team at Meeting Matters. I reached out during one of the most difficult periods of my life while dealing with grief and trying to be the best parent I could be for my children. Ms. Tasmiya's kindness, empathy, and guidance helped me navigate emotions that often felt overwhelming. She helped me understand my feelings, regain perspective, and think through practical ways of supporting my children and myself. I always felt respected, heard, and comfortable during our sessions. I would wholeheartedly recommend Ms. Tasmiya Asghar and Meeting Matters to anyone going through a challenging time and looking for professional support in a compassionate environment.”
