Living and working in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Riyadh, Doha or elsewhere in the Gulf brings long hours, distance from family and the pressure of supporting relatives at home. The Meeting Matters offers online therapy for Pakistanis in the UAE and Gulf, led by Mr. Muhammad Naushad Anjum, a psychologist registered in the UAE and with the UK Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), with sessions in Urdu, English or Punjabi.
Session fees at The Meeting Matters are set in Pakistani Rupees (PKR 5,000–15,000, with a 20% student discount) — for clients paying in GBP, USD or CAD, that typically works out to a fraction of local therapy costs, without compromising on qualified, evidence-based psychologists who understand your cultural background firsthand.
Ready to talk to someone?
Mr. Muhammad Naushad Anjum founded The Meeting Matters in 2010. He is registered in the UAE and with the HCPC in the UK, holds an MPhil and an MSc in Psychology, and has been consultant psychologist to the employee assistance programmes of BBC, Optum and Workplace Options since 2012. His specialist areas are CBT, DBT, couple and marriage counselling, family counselling and trauma. See his profile.
Long working hours and job insecurity, being away from family for years, financial pressure and sending money home, loneliness, stress in a marriage when one partner lives apart, family conflict by phone, and low mood or burnout. Many people carry these quietly because there is no one to tell.
Where one partner is in the Gulf and the other in Pakistan, or both are abroad, we can work with you together over video. See marriage counselling and family counselling.
Sessions are online by secure video, in Urdu, English or Punjabi. Mr. Anjum has a busy travel schedule and is mostly available online; our client team arranges bookings around his availability and your time zone, and can offer another psychologist if you want to start sooner. If you are outside the UAE, we will confirm what is appropriate for your location when you book.
Fees for Gulf clients are confirmed when you book. Book a session or message us on WhatsApp, and we usually reply within about 30 minutes. See also psychologist in Dubai.
We are not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact the local emergency number where you live.

“I am truly grateful to Ms. Tasmiya Asghar and the team at Meeting Matters. I reached out during one of the most difficult periods of my life while dealing with grief and trying to be the best parent I could be for my children. Ms. Tasmiya's kindness, empathy, and guidance helped me navigate emotions that often felt overwhelming. She helped me understand my feelings, regain perspective, and think through practical ways of supporting my children and myself. I always felt respected, heard, and comfortable during our sessions. I would wholeheartedly recommend Ms. Tasmiya Asghar and Meeting Matters to anyone going through a challenging time and looking for professional support in a compassionate environment.”
