Islamic Marriage Counselling for the USA and Canada: Online, in Urdu or English

Muslim couples in the USA and Canada often look for a marriage counsellor who respects their faith and understands family, community and cultural expectations, and find few nearby. The Meeting Matters offers online marriage counselling for Muslim couples in North America, led by Mr. Muhammad Naushad Anjum, a psychologist registered with the UK Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and in the UAE, who specialises in couple and marriage counselling.

Better Value, Without Compromising on Care

Session fees at The Meeting Matters are set in Pakistani Rupees (PKR 5,000–15,000, with a 20% student discount) — for clients paying in GBP, USD or CAD, that typically works out to a fraction of local therapy costs, without compromising on qualified, evidence-based psychologists who understand your cultural background firsthand.

What We Do and Do Not Do

We provide professional, evidence-based marriage counselling that respects Muslim faith and values. We do not issue religious rulings, and we are not a substitute for a scholar. For questions of fiqh, including nikah, divorce and talaq, please consult a qualified scholar. Many couples use counselling and religious guidance side by side. Who You Will Work With

Mr. Muhammad Naushad Anjum founded The Meeting Matters in 2010. He is registered with the HCPC in the UK and in the UAE, holds an MPhil and an MSc in Psychology, and has been consultant psychologist to the employee assistance programmes of BBC, Optum and Workplace Options since 2012. His specialist areas are CBT, DBT, couple and marriage counselling, family counselling and trauma. You can read his full profile and background.

Pressures Muslim Couples in North America Often Describe

Expectations from both families, in-law tension, a spouse still settling after moving, work and money pressure, differences between a partner raised in North America and one raised abroad, raising children between two cultures, communication that has broken down, trust after an affair, and deciding whether to stay together.

How It Works

Both partners join one secure video session, even from different places, for example one in Houston and one in Karachi. The first session lets each of you describe the problem and agree goals. You can start alone if your partner is not ready. Sessions are in English, Urdu or Punjabi. Evening sessions for North America can be arranged through our team.

From Houston to Toronto

Sessions are online, so you can attend from Houston, Dallas, New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Atlanta, Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Calgary or elsewhere. See also Islamic and Muslim marriage counselling, Muslim therapist for the USA and Canada and marriage counselling for infidelity.

Booking and Fees

Fees are confirmed when you book. Book a session or message us on WhatsApp with your city and time zone. We usually reply within about 30 minutes. Rules about who may provide therapy to people in a given country, state or province vary. We will tell you plainly what is appropriate for your location when you book, and this service does not replace local emergency or crisis care.

If You Need Urgent Help

We are not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. In the USA or Canada you can call or text 988. If there is domestic abuse, the USA National Domestic Violence Hotline is 1-800-799-7233.

“I am truly grateful to Ms. Tasmiya Asghar and the team at Meeting Matters. I reached out during one of the most difficult periods of my life while dealing with grief and trying to be the best parent I could be for my children. Ms. Tasmiya's kindness, empathy, and guidance helped me navigate emotions that often felt overwhelming. She helped me understand my feelings, regain perspective, and think through practical ways of supporting my children and myself. I always felt respected, heard, and comfortable during our sessions.
