Islamic marriage counseling is professional, evidence-based couples therapy delivered in a way that respects a Muslim couple's faith, values and family context — helping partners resolve conflict, rebuild trust and communicate better without being asked to set their beliefs aside. The Meeting Matters offers marriage counseling for Muslim couples at our F-11/1 Islamabad clinic and online across Pakistan and worldwide, led by qualified psychologists rather than relying on generic advice.
Ready to talk to someone?
Our sessions are psychological counseling, not religious rulings. Your therapist works within the framework you bring — including the importance you place on faith, family and the sanctity of marriage — while using established, research-backed methods such as the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy. If you also seek guidance from a scholar or imam on religious questions, that sits alongside your therapy rather than being replaced by it.
Recurring arguments and emotional distance, tension with in-laws or joint-family expectations, differing views on roles and responsibilities, trust breaches including infidelity, intimacy difficulties, financial disagreements, adjusting after an arranged marriage, and the stress of deciding whether to stay together or separate. These are among the most common reasons couples across Pakistan and the Muslim diaspora reach out.
Many couples worry that therapy will judge their values or ignore their family's role. We start from the opposite assumption: your faith, culture and extended family are part of your story, not obstacles to it. Where it helps, sessions can include a joint conversation about family expectations, always with both partners' agreement.
Joint sessions are available by secure video for couples in Lahore, Karachi and across Pakistan, as well as Muslim couples in the UK, Canada, the US and the Gulf — including couples in different cities or countries. Evening and weekend slots are available around work and family commitments.
For engaged couples and arranged-marriage couples, our premarital counseling page covers how guided conversations about expectations, finances, family integration and communication can strengthen a marriage before it begins.
