Psychotherapy is talking therapy delivered by a trained professional to help you change thinking and behaviour patterns, heal from painful experiences and improve relationships. At The Meeting Matters, our psychologists provide psychotherapy online across Pakistan and in person at our clinic at House 66, Street 73, F-11/1, Islamabad, in Urdu, Punjabi or English.
Ready to talk to someone?
Psychotherapy is a structured process of regular sessions with a trained therapist. The approach depends on the problem and on you: some methods are practical and time-limited, others explore long-standing patterns. Research supports psychotherapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD and relationship difficulties.
CBT for anxiety, depression and OCD; DBT for emotional regulation; psychodynamic psychotherapy for recurring patterns; EMDR and trauma therapy for past trauma; Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples; and play therapy for children.
A psychotherapist provides talking therapy. A psychologist has formal psychology training and may also assess. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can prescribe medication. We are psychologists and do not prescribe medication. If a medical opinion would help, we will say so and work alongside your doctor or psychiatrist.
Some problems improve in a few months of weekly sessions, while deeper patterns take longer. We agree goals at the start, review progress regularly, and you can stop or change direction at any time.
Meet us in person at the F-11/1 clinic (psychologist in Islamabad), or online from anywhere in Pakistan. For clients in other cities see Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi.
Message us on WhatsApp with what you are dealing with and a time that suits you. We usually reply within about 30 minutes and will suggest a suitable therapist. We are not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number or go to the nearest hospital.

“I am truly grateful to Ms. Tasmiya Asghar and the team at Meeting Matters. I reached out during one of the most difficult periods of my life while dealing with grief and trying to be the best parent I could be for my children. Ms. Tasmiya's kindness, empathy, and guidance helped me navigate emotions that often felt overwhelming. She helped me understand my feelings, regain perspective, and think through practical ways of supporting my children and myself. I always felt respected, heard, and comfortable during our sessions. I would wholeheartedly recommend Ms. Tasmiya Asghar and Meeting Matters to anyone going through a challenging time and looking for professional support in a compassionate environment.”
