If your child is anxious, angry, struggling at school or just not themselves, a child psychologist can help you work out what is going on. The Meeting Matters has been working in Islamabad since 2010. Our child and teen psychologists see children in person at our clinic at House 66, Street 73, F-11/1, or online by secure video, with parent guidance built into every plan.
Ready to talk to someone?
Common concerns are anxiety and fears, frequent tantrums or defiance, trouble concentrating, falling grades, school refusal, bullying, shyness and trouble making friends, sleep problems, screen time battles, and changes at home such as a move, a new sibling or a separation. A first session helps work out whether this is a normal stage or whether extra support would help. You are not expected to arrive with a diagnosis.
The first conversation is with you as parents, so the psychologist can hear the full story: when it started, what you have tried, how school and home are going. Then the psychologist meets your child at their own pace. Younger children usually play or draw, older children and teenagers talk. After that you get a plain explanation of what we see and a suggested plan. Nobody is rushed into a label.
Young children rarely say "I am anxious". They show it through play, behaviour and clinginess. Play therapy lets them show us what they cannot yet explain. See our page on play therapy for children.
If you suspect ADHD, read our guide to ADHD in children for the signs and how assessment works. We also support learning difficulties and child behavioral concerns, with strategies you can use at home and when talking to teachers.
Teenagers often respond best to a psychologist who respects their privacy and independence. Our teen counseling covers exam stress, self-esteem, social media pressure, friendships and family conflict. Parents are kept informed in a way the teenager agrees to, with guidance offered separately.
Our clinic is in F-11/1 and is easy to reach from the F, E and G sectors, I-8, Bahria Town and DHA Islamabad. If school pick-ups, traffic or exams make travel hard, sessions can be online by secure video, with a parent nearby to help set things up. Sessions are in English, Urdu or Punjabi, with evening and weekend slots around school hours.

“I am truly grateful to Ms. Tasmiya Asghar and the team at Meeting Matters. I reached out during one of the most difficult periods of my life while dealing with grief and trying to be the best parent I could be for my children. Ms. Tasmiya's kindness, empathy, and guidance helped me navigate emotions that often felt overwhelming. She helped me understand my feelings, regain perspective, and think through practical ways of supporting my children and myself. I always felt respected, heard, and comfortable during our sessions. I would wholeheartedly recommend Ms. Tasmiya Asghar and Meeting Matters to anyone going through a challenging time and looking for professional support in a compassionate environment.”
