A child who cannot sit still, loses everything, interrupts constantly or melts down over small things is not simply naughty or lazy. Sometimes it is ADHD. The Meeting Matters assesses and supports children with attention and hyperactivity difficulties in Islamabad and online across Pakistan, with practical strategies for parents and for school.

Common signs include trouble paying attention to tasks that are not exciting, losing belongings, forgetting instructions, constant movement, interrupting or blurting out, difficulty waiting a turn, and strong frustration. Girls and quieter children are often missed because they daydream rather than climb the furniture. Many children show some of these traits, so what matters is how often, how intensely and how much it affects school, home and friendships.
Assessment is a structured clinical interview with parents about the child's development and behaviour across home, school and friendships, together with time with the child. Teacher input is often helpful. The aim is an accurate picture, which also checks for other explanations such as anxiety, learning difficulties, sleep problems or stress at home that can look like ADHD.
Parent training in consistent routines, clear instructions and positive reinforcement is one of the most effective supports. Therapy with the child builds emotional regulation, organisation and frustration tolerance, and school strategies such as seating, task breaks and written instructions make the classroom easier. We are psychologists and do not prescribe medication. If a medical opinion would help, we will say so and you can discuss it with a paediatrician or psychiatrist.
We help you talk to teachers about what your child needs and give you simple tools for homework, mornings and bedtimes. Remedial support for learning difficulties is available where attention problems sit alongside them.
Consider an assessment if difficulties have lasted six months or more, appear in more than one setting, and are affecting grades, friendships or family life. Earlier support tends to protect a child's confidence.
