Finding the right therapist in Pakistan can feel hard: unclear qualifications, long waits, and worry about being seen walking into a clinic. The Meeting Matters is a psychology practice in Islamabad, working since 2010. Our psychologists and therapists see clients across Pakistan online by secure video, in Urdu, Punjabi or English, and in person at our clinic at House 66, Street 73, F-11/1, Islamabad.
Ready to talk to someone?
A therapist helps you work through emotional, behavioural and relationship difficulties by talking, using structured methods such as CBT. In everyday use, the words therapist, psychologist, counselor and psychotherapist overlap. The difference that matters is training and what the person is allowed to do. We are psychologists and do not prescribe medication. If a medical opinion would help, we will say so and work alongside your doctor or psychiatrist. Our guide explains psychologist, therapist or counselor: which do you need.
Sessions are held by secure video on a phone, tablet or laptop, from any private space. The first session is a conversation about what is happening and what you would like to change, with no pressure and no diagnosis needed to start. Together we agree a plan, usually weekly sessions at first. For most common concerns, online therapy can work as well as in-person therapy, if you have privacy and a stable connection.
Anxiety and panic, depression and low mood, stress and burnout, OCD, trauma, grief, anger, sleep problems, self-esteem, relationship and marriage problems, family conflict, and ADHD and autism support for children and adults. See anxiety, depression, OCD, panic disorder, trauma therapy and marriage counseling.
Ask about training and approach, whether they have worked with problems like yours, the language you can speak most freely in, and whether you would feel more comfortable with a woman or a man. Most of our psychologists are women, and we will arrange your preference. A good first session should leave you feeling heard. If the fit is not right, you can ask to see someone else.
We see clients from every part of Pakistan: Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Multan, Faisalabad and Islamabad, where you can also meet us in person at the F-11/1 clinic.
Individual therapy is one-to-one. Couples can see a marriage counselor together, online, from different places if needed. Parents can book a child psychologist, with parent guidance included. See online psychologist in Pakistan for the full team and online therapy in Lahore or Karachi.
Message us on WhatsApp with what you are dealing with and a time that suits you. We usually reply within about 30 minutes and will suggest a suitable therapist. We are not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number or go to the nearest hospital.

âI am truly grateful to Ms. Tasmiya Asghar and the team at Meeting Matters. I reached out during one of the most difficult periods of my life while dealing with grief and trying to be the best parent I could be for my children. Ms. Tasmiya's kindness, empathy, and guidance helped me navigate emotions that often felt overwhelming. She helped me understand my feelings, regain perspective, and think through practical ways of supporting my children and myself. I always felt respected, heard, and comfortable during our sessions. I would wholeheartedly recommend Ms. Tasmiya Asghar and Meeting Matters to anyone going through a challenging time and looking for professional support in a compassionate environment.â
