A psychological assessment is a structured process in which a psychologist gathers information through interviews, validated questionnaires and observation to understand how a person thinks, feels, learns and behaves, and to answer a specific question such as whether ADHD, autism or a learning difficulty is present. The Meeting Matters offers psychological assessment for children, teens and adults at our F-11/1 Islamabad clinic and online across Pakistan, with clear feedback and practical next steps.
Ready to talk to someone?
Common reasons people seek an assessment include concerns about attention, hyperactivity or impulsivity (ADHD), social communication and sensory differences (autism), difficulties with reading, writing, maths or school performance, and persistent behavioural or emotional difficulties in a child or teenager. Adults who suspect they have lived with undiagnosed ADHD or autism also seek assessment.
It typically begins with a detailed interview about current concerns and developmental and family history. This is combined with structured questionnaires or rating scales, observation, and where relevant information from parents, teachers or partners. Your psychologist then brings the picture together and explains the findings in a feedback session.
For children, parents are closely involved and, with your permission, we can liaise with schools. Teenagers are included in the conversation about what is going on for them. Adults are assessed with a focus on how patterns have shown up across school, work and relationships.
You leave with a clear explanation of what was found and what it means in everyday life, along with practical recommendations. These may include therapy, parent guidance, strategies for school or work, or a referral to a psychiatrist or other professional where medical input could help. Our ADHD and autism services provide ongoing support after assessment.
Interviews and many parts of the process can be completed by secure video, which makes assessment accessible to families across Pakistan and overseas. Your psychologist will tell you if any part is better done in person.
