Meeting Matters Global · For hospitals and healthcare teams
Employee Assistance Program for Hospitals
Doctors, nurses and support staff carry everyone else's worst day. Long shifts, critical incidents and the pressure to stay composed take a toll that rarely shows until someone burns out or leaves. Meeting Matters Global runs an Employee Assistance Program built for hospital teams: confidential counselling for staff, on-site training for departments, and a clear process for the moments that are hardest on a ward. We have delivered our EAP and training programme for Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad, and we are bringing it on site to Karachi.
- Confidential
- On site and online
- Qualified psychologists
Who it is for
Why hospital teams need support
Long shifts and night work
Rotating rosters disrupt sleep and mood, which affects errors, absence and how staff treat each other.
Critical incidents
A patient death, an act of violence or a medical error affects the whole team, not only the person involved.
Burnout and exhaustion
A 2025 study of 200 resident doctors in Peshawar reported high emotional exhaustion in 43.8%.
Violence against staff
A 2016 survey of 179 physicians in Karachi reported that about three in five had faced verbal abuse and about one in six physical violence.
Stigma about asking for help
Staff rarely seek help where colleagues can see them. Confidential, external support changes that.
Managers carrying their teams
Head nurses and department heads absorb everyone's stress and need support to spot distress early.
What the program includes
Support for employees, managers and HR
- Confidential counselling for doctors, nurses and support staff
- On-site training for departments: burnout, stress after critical incidents, resilience, communication on the ward
- Critical-incident support: a structured team debrief led by a psychologist
- A 90-minute briefing for department heads on spotting distress and referring without stigma
- An anonymous baseline survey and quarterly reports with numbers only, never names
See the full Employee Assistance Program page for how it works, leadership and associations.

EAP for hospitals: frequently asked questions
Do you provide an Employee Assistance Program for hospitals?
Yes. Meeting Matters Global provides confidential counselling for hospital staff, on-site training for departments, critical-incident support and manager briefings. We have delivered our EAP and training programme for Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad.
Is staff use of the counselling confidential from the hospital?
Yes. What a staff member says stays between them and their psychologist. The hospital receives anonymised utilisation numbers only, never names or session content. The usual ethical limits apply where there is a serious risk of harm.
Can sessions happen on hospital premises?
Yes. In Islamabad and Karachi we can run counselling days and workshops on site by arrangement. Online sessions are available for staff on any shift.
How quickly can a critical-incident debrief happen?
We aim to hold a structured team debrief as soon as possible after a serious event, usually within a few days, depending on access and your team's availability.
Do you work with private and public hospitals?
Yes. We scope the programme to your headcount, departments and shift patterns.
Can we start with training only?
Yes. Many hospitals begin with one workshop day and add counselling access afterwards.
How is it priced?
Programmes are priced per employee for counselling access, plus a fee per workshop for training days. Fees depend on headcount and the mix of counselling and training, so we quote after a short needs call rather than publish a list.
Let's design the right EAP for your hospital team
